To start using YakYak for making VoIP calls, you'll first need to get an account with us. This account is created on our SIP gateways and allows you to connect with your hardware or software phone, anywhere you have internet access. Once you have your username and password, you can login to your VoIP control panel to configure the features that accompany your account.

Full details, including login details are emailed to you once your account has been setup. Airtime must be purchased to make outbound calls and is valid for the calendar month. Airtime can be purchased in any value required, so you can buy only what you need for the month and know exactly what you're spending. You can check your current telephone bill to get an idea of what would suite your needs.

Please note the following regarding our SIP VoIP platform:

• Our SIP accounts can be used on many different VoIP phones, telephone adapters and software SIP clients.
• Your hardware device or software client must support either the g729a (preferred) or g711 voice codec in order to make calls.
• Your network or home firewall must be stateful and understand SIP to open the dynamic UDP ports used by RTP.
• The ideal packet size or codec rate, from our testing, is 20 - 40ms. If your device supports a custom value, please be sure to set this.
• Our platform supports SIP on port 5060 and RTP ports 16385 - 32000. If your device supports a custom value, please be sure to set these
